Becoming Giulia: Premiere and Cinema Tour
On January 17, the inspiring documentary "Becoming Giulia" celebrates its premiere at Cinéma in Frankfurt am Main. The event marks the start of the cinema tour with director Laura Kaehr.
FILM CONTENT
Giulia Tonelli, 1st solo dancer at Zurich Opera House, has missed the stage. After the birth of her son, she returns from eleven months of maternity leave to the daily routine of a professional ballet dancer. There is hardly any consideration for mothers, time is short between rehearsals and performances, even for a chocolate bar. But Giulia not only wants to manage the balancing act between mother and first-class ballerina, she also wants to develop her artistic identity and take on more demanding roles in the ballet. At rehearsals, before and during performances and at home at the kitchen table, the camera rotates with her as she finds a balance between the demanding worlds of an elite ballet company and her new family life.
