Becoming Giulia: Premiere in Berlin & Cinema Tour
Enthusiastic applause from Berlin: On 19 January, the inspiring documentary "Becoming Giulia" celebrated its premiere in the presence of the director and protagonist at Moviemento in Berlin.
In the subsequent film discussion with moderator Isabelle Feldwisch (WIFT Germany), director Laura Kaehr discussed the structural problems of the modern ballet world with the interested and visibly delighted audience. She pleaded for a fundamental change in the outdated values of ballet.
Many audience members could identify with Giulia Tonelli's words about the difficult challenges of motherhood and her own career. "Becoming Giulia" not only appealed to the female audience, a large proportion of the male viewers were also enthusiastic about this "important film".
After the successful premiere at the Moviemento cinema in Berlin, the weekend consisted of further tour dates for director Laura Kaehr.
The tour continued the next day in the ASTOR-Film Lounge, Berlin where both Giulia and Laura were also present for a Q&A followed by a champagne reception.
On Sunday, the cinema tour continued and concluded with Laura in Bonn and Cologne. In Bonn, she was interviewed by Anastassia Boutsko (Deutsche Welle) after the screening in the Rex-Lichtspieltheater. In Cologne, the Q&A was conducted by Cornelia Köhler at the Odeon cinema in Cologne.
