Hermes Phettberg
Born on 5 October 1952 under the civil name Josef Fenz in Hollabrunn, north of Vienna. The writer, presenter, actor and pastoral assistant, the self-confessed gay masochist Hermes Phettberg is the largest living complete work of art in Austria and became known to an audience of millions in the 1990s through his cult show "Phettbergs Nette Leit Show".
The most unusual talk show host on German-language television is today, after several strokes and a heart attack, the most well-known welfare recipient in Austria. He lives in Vienna at the age of 62, completely impoverished at the time of shooting, and writes his daily Internet diary the "Gestion" www.phettberg.at and once a week in the city magazine Falter his column "Phettbergs Predigtdienst".
