Director
Julia C. Kaiser
Born in Munich in 1983, she studied screenwriting at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy from 2006 and has been a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation since 2009. During her studies she created the short film "Amoklove", which was invited to the 'Next Generation Cannes 2009' and to over 30 festivals. Together with Jens Wischnewski, she writes the screenplay for the feature film "What's Left of My Life", which was awarded the Fritz-Raff-Screenplay Prize at the 38th Max-Ophüls Prize Festival 2017.
"Floating!" was her feature film directing debut in 2013. The improvisational tragicomedy celebrates its premiere at the 36th Max Ophüls Film Festival and, after numerous festival participations, comes to German cinemas in 2015. In 2016, her second feature film "Die Hannas" has its world premiere in her home town at the 34th Munich Film Festival in the series 'Neues Deutsches Kino'. The multi-award-winning film will be released in German cinemas on August 10, 2017 and in French cinemas one year later. Julia lives and works in Berlin.
