Harrowing documentary about the relationship between humans and animals
We love cats, dogs and horses, they are man's best friends. The so-called "farm animals" on the other hand are tormented and exploited. An absurd contradiction: We successfully suppress the fact that meat, milk, down or fur comes from animals with character and their own needs, which are bred and killed solely for our purposes. "In the Name of Animals" shows the cruel reality created by this indifference and raises a voice for the fair treatment of animals. George Bernard Shaw said: "The greatest sin against our fellow creatures is not hatred but indifference. This is the essence of inhumanity.«
"In the Name of Animals" is a courageous documentary about animal rights, which the Munich photographer and convinced vegan Sabine Kückelmann realised as an independent one-woman production. Premiered at the Hof International Film Festival and awarded the "Accolade Award".
»I made this film so that we understand that something called "Burger" was previously a beautiful creature for whose suffering we are responsible.« Director Sabine Kückelmann
