Godehard Giese

godehard_giese.jpg Godehard Giese, born 1972, studied acting at the Berlin University of the Arts from 1997 to 2001. After an engagement at the Hildesheim City Theatre, the actor, who grew up in Hamburg, increasingly took on leading roles in television and feature films and, in addition to several roles in "Tatort", appeared in other successful series such as "Mord mit Aussicht", "Bella Block", "Wilsberg" and "Polizeiruf".

In 2015 Godehard Giese was awarded as Best Actor in Tom Sommerlatte's "Summer Downstairs" at the Achtung Berlin Filmfestival. His subsequent leading role in the feature film "Liebmann", which celebrated its world premiere at the Berlinale 2016, was also highly praised. In Julia Keller's social drama "Not.Now." Godehard Giese can once again be seen in an impressive character leading role. The film premiered at the Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis and will be released in German cinemas on 9 November 2017.

Godehard Giese celebrated his debut as a director in 2014 with "Die Geschichte vom Astronauten" (Story of the Astronaut). The feature-length film was shown in competition at the Filmfestival Max Ophüls. Godehard Giese wrote the script, took on the production and plays one of the leading roles next to Stephanie Petrowitz.

Godehard Giese currently lives in Berlin.
