Christian von Brockhausen, born in Hanover in 1979, studied political science in Cologne. In 2009 he published his book "The Beslan Hostage Drama in the Sensational Pattern of Breaking News". After his editorial traineeship in 2008 at the Norddeutscher Rundfunk, he works for NDR television as author, director and editor for political magazines and documentary formats. He has received numerous prizes and awards for his cinematic work, including the German Television Prize 2013 and the German Social Prize 2013. Since 2014, he has been working as an editor in the editorial department of "Die Box", a development laboratory for documentary narration at NDR. He also works as a lecturer for video journalism at the ARD/ZDF Media Academy.

Timo Großpietsch, born 1977 in Hamburg, studied media science and ethnology at the University of Hamburg as well as photography and documentary film at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg. He then worked as an editor and documentary filmmaker in the "Documentary and Reportage" department of NDR. He has received various prizes and awards for his film work, including the Axel Springer and Erich Klabunde awards. He also teaches documentary film at universities and works as a trainer for film, television and video journalism. Together with Olaf Jacobs he wrote the book "Journalism for Television. Dramaturgy, Design, Genres".
