Nathalie - Überwindung der Grenzen: Deutschlandpremiere in Berlin
On Thursday, Corpus Christi, “Continental Drift” celebrated its German premiere in cooperation with the Institut français in Berlin in front of an enthusiastic audience at the cinema in the Kulturbrauerei.
Among the guests at the premiere, Stephan Winkler, head of distribution at W-FILM, welcomed director Lionel Baier, his actress Ursina Lardi and Swiss ambassador Livia Leu.
Following the screening, director Lionel Baier and actress Ursina Lardi spoke with presenter Rüdiger Suchsland about their positive experiences during filming. They emphasized the international collaboration of the actors from different countries, which meant that the film should be seen less as purely French-Swiss and more as European. Baier attaches great importance to combining seriousness and humor in his films.
The Franco-Swiss satire is becoming increasingly topical in view of the upcoming European elections on June 6. For the filmmaker, Switzerland is the “most European country” due to its multilingualism, its central location in Europe and its pro-European stance.
“Continental Drift” was released in cinemas on May 30.
