Lost Transport: Successful festival premiere at Film Festival Cologne!
On October 21, the German-Dutch drama "Lost Transport" celebrated its festival premiere at Film Festival Cologne! The three leading actresses of the film were guests in the subsequent film discussion: shooting star Hanna van Vliet, who was one of the New Talents at this year's Berlinale, Luxembourgian Eugénie Anselin, who learned Russian for the film, and Anna Bachmann, who comes from Düsseldorf. Director Saskia Diesing came all the way from the Netherlands to answer questions from moderator Sonja Hofmann alongside Cologne-based producers Christine Kiauk and Herbert Schwering (Coin Film). "Lost Transport" will be released in German cinemas in spring 2023.
LOST Transport: Festival premiere at the Film Festival Cologne
On October 21st at 9 pm, Saskia Diesing's unconventional drama "Lost Transport" will celebrate its festival premiere at Film Festival Cologne! Following the screening there will be a Q&A with members of cast and crew. The German-Dutch co-production will run in both the NRW competition and the "Benelux Meets Nrw" section and will be screened twice at FFCGN. The film will then be released in German cinemas in spring 2023.
LAND OF DREAMS: German-wide premiere tour with Shirin Neshat!
On October 25, the feature film "Land of Dreams" by Iranian-American photo artist and director Shirin Neshat will celebrate its national premiere at the Abaton cinema in Hamburg! Special guests in the subsequent film discussion are director Shirin Neshat and producer Amir Hamz from the Hamburg production company Bon Voyage Films. Afterwards, Shirin Neshat will go on a Germany-wide premiere tour with "Land of Dreams" and will be a guest in Düsseldorf (October 26), Munich (October 27) and Berlin (October 28). "Land of Dreams" will then be released in cinemas across Germany on November 3.
"The Art of Silence": Home cinema release November 25, 2022
From November 25, "The Art of Silence" is available on DVD and as VoD in the W-film online store and in regular stores. In his documentary, director Maurizius Staerkle Drux traces the legacy of the artist of the century, Marcel Marceau, interweaving exclusive archival footage with a personal, contemporary view: A grand master of mime, Marcel Marceau portrayed the awkwardness of humanity and conveyed the unspeakable through "cries of silence."
"Vatersland": Now on DVD & as VoD
"Vatersland" is now available on DVD and as VoD in the W-film online store as well as in regular stores. Following her award-winning documentary "In Search of Memory" about Nobel Prize winner Eric Kandel, director Petra Seeger processes her own past as a girl growing up in a male-dominated post-war society in her first feature film - perceptive, feminist and at the same time immensely entertaining and humorous. The family photos and 16mm film footage used in the film come from the director's private archive.
