Željka Preksavec
Željka Preksavec was born in Zagreb (Croatia) in 1960. She completed her education at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart. Even as a young actress she was nominated for the double role in "Das Double" by Ernst-Jürgen Drayer as the best up-and-coming actress of the year by "Theater Heute". For 13 years she was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus in Bonn. This was followed by television and cinema roles, among others in "Tatort", "Ruhm", "Im Alter von Ellen", "Neander-Jin: The Return of the Neanderthal Man", "Bes", "Danni Lowinski", "Komissar Stolberg". For the female leading role of mother Stanka in the movie "Sasha" she was awarded as best actress at the Festival de la Luna in Valencia in 2011.
The actress, who lives in Bonn, also works as a coach and lecturer, including at the University of Music and Dance in Cologne. After "Sasha", "The Prodigal Sister" is her second collaboration with author and director Dennis Todorovic.
