Eva Maschke was born in Cologne in 1976 and grew up in the Eifel. After training as a physiotherapist, she worked in this profession for two years until she switched to film.

She gained her first experience as a material and camera assistant and as a crane operator at SWR Baden-Baden. There she took part in various "Tatort" productions and over 50 episodes of the series "Schätze der Welt". Afterwards she studied film & media at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg from 2002 with the main focus on image design/camera. Since completing her diploma in 2007 she has been working as a freelance camerawoman, author and director. Eva Maschke is married, mother of a daughter and a son, and lives in Frechen near Cologne.

Many of the works in which Eva Maschke participated have been shown at renowned film festivals, among others: Berlinale, Hof International Film Festival, Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis, IDFA Amsterdam. For "Roaming Around" (German Short Film Award 2008) directed by Brigitte M. Bertele she won the German Camera Award 2007. In 2010 she was awarded for the film "Frauenzimmer" directed by Saara A. Waasner received the new berlin film award in the category Best Camera and was awarded the young talent prize for female image designers at the International Women's Film Festival in Dortmund/Cologne in 2011. In 2015 Eva Maschke made her debut as director and producer with the film "Four Become Parents".
