Eike Besuden was born in Wildeshausen/Oldenburg in 1948. After his studies, he first worked as a teacher in Bremen. From 1976 he worked as an author, editor and presenter for Radio Bremen. In 1987 he switched to television, where he was responsible for documentaries and features as an editor and continued to work as a presenter, including for "buten un binnen".
In 1995, Eike Besuden founded his own production company, now called Pinguin Studios, and realised numerous TV documentaries, TV movies and feature films. Among them were more than a dozen inclusive film projects with disabled actors. His feature film "Crazy About Paris" caused a national sensation and was awarded the Bernhard Wicki Prize at the Emden-Norderney Film Festival and the Audience Award at the Berlin & Beyond Film Festival San Francisco.
