Stefan Haupt
Stefan Haupt was born in Zurich in 1961, studied drama and has been an independent documentary and feature film director since 1989. He lives in Zurich and is married to actress Eleni Haupt.
With his feature film “Der Kreis”, Stefan won the Panorama Audience Award and the Teddy Award at the Berlinale in 2014 as well as the Swiss Film Award for Best Feature Film in 2015. Moreover, “Der Kreis” was the official Swiss candidate at the Oscars for the best foreign language film.
After his screen adaptation of “Finsteres Glück”, his latest film “The Reformer. Zwingli: A Life’s Portrait” will be released nationwide in the cinemas on 31 October 2019, distributed by W-film. An opulent historical drama about the famous humanist Ulrich Zwingli which has already been enjoyed by over 240.000 people in Switzerland.
